This project will provide the Murrumbateman community with an inclusive all ages, all-abilities playground. This project is necessary as the community is rapidly expanding and does not currently have a functionable large community playground.

While Council remains committed to delivering this important project for the Murrumbateman community as soon as practically possible, a new location needs to be selected for the Murrumbateman All Abilities Playground as per the adopted concept design.

The good news is that funding is still secure, and we’ve been working closely with the grant provider to identify a new location that meets the milestones agreed upon under their extended funding requirements.

We are now considering two other options and are seeking input to determine which one is preferred by the community:

  • Murrumbateman Recreation Grounds: Located on the southern sand arena (by the tennis courts), this site offers access to the new public toilet block, existing car parking, large open space and internal pathways. The new playground would feature majority of the play equipment from the original adopted design concept.
  • 10 Hercules Street (Murrumbateman Community Playground Site): This existing playground is currently on land owned by the church but leased to the Council. It offers easy pedestrian access from the village and Fairley Estate, along with off-street car parking. The original adopted design concept would need to be modified to suit the site, featuring the most suitable play equipment for the space and new toilet facilities.

Have your say! Complete our quick survey before 12 May 2025 and let us know which site you prefer.
