Riverbank Park
Riverbank Park is the picturesque centrepiece of Yass with contemporary Aboriginal murals, arches from the town’s early bridge, fitness stations, an adventure playground and a designated walking path that surrounds the river.
The brand-new Riverbank Park adventure playspace was officially opened in 2023. The adventure playspace was designed with the help of the Yass Valley community and received $2 million from the NSW Government through the Public Spaces Legacy Program.
The large playground features a flying fox, sky tower with slide, swings, accessible toilets, free barbecue facilities, picnic tables and plenty of shade from the large leafy trees.
Riverbank Park also features open green space for recreational use and a heritage themed rotunda, a joint project between the Yass Lions Club and Yass Valley Council in 2017.
A walking track surrounds the river and also leads to the Yass Off-Leash Dog Park, a newly constructed Skate Park as well as Yass High and Yass Public Schools. A wide range of beautiful flora and fauna can be observed on this walk or from the park.
