Yass Rail Trail Project - Info Session
Published on 20 March 2025
The community are invited to an information session to find out more about the plans for the proposed Yass Rail Trail Project, an exciting initiative that aims to create a 4.5 km trail along the historic Yass Tramway corridor, connecting the Great Southern Railway at Yass Junction Railway Station to Yass Township. This trail will not only enhance local tourism but also encourage active transport, providing a sustainable and accessible route for both residents and visitors.
At the Information Session people can learn more about the project’s design, ask questions, and meet the team of designers. This open-door, all-day drop-in event is an excellent opportunity to engage with the project and gain a deeper understanding of the positive impact of the Rail Trail.
Event Details:
Date: Tuesday, 25 March

In 2023, Council completed a comprehensive feasibility assessment and secured $698,000 in funding from the NSW Government’s Get NSW Active program to develop a detailed design for the trail. If Council agrees, grant funding applications for the project implementation stage will begin at the end of this year.
